About us
Furrier craft, the wild 60s, Helmut Lang & social responsibility
Liska, a family business, is one of Austria's oldest and most beautiful fur houses with in-house furriers. Founded in 1948, Liska celebrated its 70th anniversary and can look back on an eventful history. "In the 60s and 70s, our coats were in great demand," says Dr Robert Liska. His mother acted visionary at that time, buying cuts from the Parisian couturiers to bring the latest trends to Vienna for Austrian customers. Furs were the most sought after in the 80s. At that time, there were still thousands of furriers in Vienna; today, there are only two to three hundred.
Fur production does not necessarily have to be conservative. Robert Liska proved that 30 years ago when he designed biker jackets with Helmut Lang, which had monkey fur application. Later on, many projects followed with Austrian and international designer like Thang de Hoo, Thomas Kirchgrabner, Sophie Skach, Romain Brau, etc.
For those fashion interested Viennese and Vienna visitors, is the Graben - one of the most beautiful strolling and shopping streets in the city centre - right at the top of the to-do list. The Liska flagship store is since 2002 on the Graben; it is an unmissable fashion world on three floors. We show the Fur collections of the house, as well as international designer fashion, of course with the latest trend pieces.
Just don't forget which other attractions there are in the city center of Vienna.
